At Washington Elementary, the Buddy Bench was where kids could find a friend when they needed one. It was a simple idea that made a big difference—turning an empty seat into a place where kindness and friendship started.

When I moved to a new school, I realized how important that bench really was—they didn’t have one. That’s when I decided to help make sure every elementary school can have a Buddy Bench, where students know they’re never alone.

A Buddy Bench isn’t just a seat; it’s a way for kids to show they care. When someone sits there, it’s a quiet call for kindness and a chance for others to reach out and offer friendship.
